Special Project Grant

Scholars who conduct research about Congress and teachers who teach social studies, history, political scieince, and other subjects which relate to Congress. Accepts proposals at any time. A committee meets monthly to review proposals and make awards. Expects to award approximately $35,000 in total per year (not per grant).
C-SPAN Archives Grants
Middle/high school teachers & college/university professors who submit creative proposals for using the network's programming in the classroom on research projects. Ongoing Awardees are granted the videotapes of their choice from the extensive collection in the C-SPAN Archives.

National Endowment for the Humanities

Grant Programs

Any U.S. nonprofit organization or institution with 501(c)3 status is eligible. State and local government agencies are also eligible.

All Institutions must register with Grants.gov and create an institutional profile.

Deadline: November 1, 2007

Curiculum development grants provide up to $100,000 in outright funds, matching funds, or a combination of the two, depending on the applicant's preference and the availability of NEH funds.

National Endowment for the Humanities

Challenge Grants

With the exception of elementary and secondary schools or school districts, any U.S. nonprofit institution (public agency or private nonprofit organization) working wholly or in part with the humanities may apply for a challenge grant. Applicants may apply either at the May or November deadline, but not both within the same 12 month period. The requested grant amount should be appropriate to the humanities needs and the fund-raising capacity of the institution. Up to $1 million may be requested.
