Placement and Testing Information

All students are required to submit ACT, ASSET, or COMPASS test scores to the Admissions Office prior to registering for classes. Your test scores are used to determine what course(s) you will be taking while at Madisonville Community College. You will need a copy with you when you register for your classes. When registering for the ACT, please make certain you have your scores sent to Madisonville Community College (our code is 1533.)

American College Test (ACT)

The ACT is a national standardized test offered 5 times per year. It is administered at Madisonville Community College's North Campus only three times per year (October, February and June.) The regular registration fee is $26.00. You may obtain a registration packet in the CAP Center on the 1st Floor of the John H. Gray Building on the North Campus or register online by contacting ACT (http://www.act.org.)

Please note: Effective with the Fall 2005 semester, students with an ACT score of 18 or below on the English, reading, and / or math subtests will be required to take the COMPASS test for course placement.

COMPASS

The COMPASS is administered at the Technical Campus of Madisonville Community College. It is offered by appointment only. Please contact Ashley Vincent at (270) 824-1701 for registration information.

Asset

The Asset is given in Muhlenberg and Hopkins Counties. Please contact the CAP Center (270) 824-8621 for more information regarding the ASSET.
