Protect Your Password
Faculty and students,
KCTCS has in recent weeks been targeted in one or more "spear phishing" attacks. Spear phishing is a targeted attempt to trick users into disclosing personal information like email passwords. In order to avoid falling victim to such an attack, please remember the following important guidelines.
- Never send your password through email. KCTCS will never ask a user for his/her password through email. Do not respond to and immediately delete any email request you receive for your password.
- On April 15, 2008, all users will be required to change their password as a security measure to combat email password scams. Until your password has been changed, you will be denied access to all KCTCS systems (Blackboard, PeopleSoft, Email, etc.).
- If you have recently emailed your password to anyone, please change your password immediately at https://webmail.kctcs.edu.
