Information Technology

Information Technology (IT) is one of the fastest growing and highest paying fields in the job market today. The IT program at Madisonville Community College is an associate of applied science (AAS) degree that prepares graduates for exciting positions in Information Technology. In addition to earning your degree, you can prepare for industry-recognized certifications to improve your job skills and employability.  The IT degree can also transfer to four-year universities.  See what our students are saying about our IT program.

With our improved web site, we now have additional IT materials on the main IT academic program page. You can find this information at this web address: www.madisonville.kctcs.edu/socialsciences/programs/it/index.html

Transfer Options
As far as transfer options, a transfer agreement has been approved by KCTCS and Murray State University.  This transfer agreement will allow a student’s KCTCS IT degree to count towards the first two years of Murray State’s Telecommunication Systems Management bachelor’s degree.  For more information on this agreement, go to www.murraystate.edu/tsm/.

There is also a transfer agreement with Western Kentucky University and KCTCS. The KCTCS IT degree will count towards a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology (CIT) degree from Western. This opportunity is unique because the entire bachelor's degree is online. For additional details, visit www.wku.edu/cit
