ISO Training
Madisonville Community College offers quality certification courses in the following International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards:
- Employee Awareness
- ISO 9000:2000 Transition
- Implementation Team
- Management Overview
- Internal Auditor
These courses can provide a significant cost savings and quicker registration. It will eliminate "false starts." The instructors of the courses hold Auditor Certifications from both RAB and AIAG.
Because we understand the diverse needs of business and industry, all training programs can be custom-tailored to the needs of a specific company. Training can be scheduled at a local community college, a hotel meeting room, or in your own training room. Course length and content may be modified to suit the needs of a customer. Training on evenings and weekends is available as needed.
The cost of a course is dependent upon the length, location, and content of the course. Final pricing is agreed upon at the time the course is scheduled. Bluegrass State Skills Corporation (BSSC) and KY-WINS funding is available for most training projects.

Employee Awareness
The purpose of this course is to provide a broad general knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 or ISO/TS 16949:2002. The course emphasizes the need for plant-wide commitment to the registration process. At the conclusion of the course, participants will have a good general understanding of both the standard and their roles in becoming certified. The course is recommended for all employees of a company seeking registration.
Course length: 4 hours
ISO 9000:2000 Transition
This course is designed for companies that are already certified to ISO 9001 or QS 9000. It covers the changes required to comply with the new version.
Course length: 4 hours
Implementation Team
This course is recommended for employees who are selected to build an ISO or QS 9000 compliant quality management system. Typically this team will have 8-10 members who represent a broad cross-section of the organization. The course includes detailed coverage of the standard, procedure writing, documentation, and auditing. Participants should have already completed either the Management Overview course or the Employee Awareness course.
Course length: 24 hours
Management Overview
This course is intended for executives and managers of a company considering ISO 9001 or TS 16949 registration. The course assumes no prior knowledge of ISO 9001 or TS 16949 . The elements of the standard are presented as well as discussion of "what it takes" to become certified.
Course length: 4 hours
Internal Auditor
This course is intended for the employees who will be conducting internal audits. Emphasis is given to the process approach, interviewing techniques, identifying and reporting non-conformances, and the audit cycle. Whenever possible, classroom examples and exercises are based upon actual company procedures, processes, and work instructions. Participants should have already completed either the Management Overview or the Employee Awareness course.
Course length: 8 to 24 hours (depends on prior experience of participants)
