"In times of change, the learner will inherit the earth, while the learned are beautifully equipped for a world that no longer exists." -- Eric Hoffer
Hello Folks,
Just a little chat for those of you considering enrolling in the Payroll Accounting course, Fall 2008 - Course # 36201.
This will be a great first internet course! You will gain valuable internet experience, learn to find current information on the net, and learn communication tools, all from a business and payroll perspective. I promise an informative and useful class, and I hope it will be interesting and entertaining as well.
This course will be useful to those who are seeking employment in the field of payroll, or those who are employed in payroll, and want some formal knowledge of payroll procedures. The course will be informative to anyone who has received a paycheck and wonder where it (the MONEY!) all went and why.
I will be programming the site using Internet Explorer. To get the latest version (STRONGLY ENCOURAGED), Go to EXPLORER to check your Explorer version on the Microsoft website.
The course site is now password protected. I will open it up to all enrolled class members on Monday, August 18th at NOON. All e-mail will be sent to your enrolled, KCTCS e-mail address. Once you are in the class, i can easily add your other e-mail addresses to it. Thanks. tim.nygaard@kctcs.edu
THERE ARE NO FACE TO FACE MEETINGS!
I presume that a student taking a web course would have some familiarity with the web. In the first part of the course, we will use some of resources found on the World Wide Web while you are waiting for your text to arrive. Ordering instructions for the book are below. You will not need the text until we are about two weeks into the course. The book contains a computerized payroll simulation, a payroll hand simulation, and a computerized payroll system. Payroll information changes annually, and it's important for you to be able to look up current payroll information. We'll be looking at web resources and how to find them during the first week or so.
