Machine Tool Classes Open to Juniors and Seniors
in Hopkins County Schools
Juniors and seniors at Madisonville-North Hopkins and Hopkins County Central high schools have the opportunity to earn college credit in the machine tool program at Madisonville Community College.
Students will enroll in two beginning machining classes—MTT 114, Fundamentals of Machine Tools and MTT 118, Metrology/Control Charts. BRX 110, Basic Blueprint Reading for Machinists, will also be included on the schedule. Classes will be held online and on the MCC tech campus Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Students will utilize an online component, www.ToolingU.com, as a supplement to class time.
Tuition and books are free to students and lab supplies will also be provided. Following successful completion of these courses, students will obtain 12 credit hours of coursework in machine tool from MCC.
Juniors and seniors who are interested in this program should contact their high school guidance counselor to enroll.
